I've been a CNA/MedTech/PCA for 17 years, I've got an associates in Behavioral Science and I'm currently in school for practical nursing, set to graduate December 2024. I'm very encouraging of the movement to keep loved ones home as I feel facilities are scams, so I try to do whatever I'm capable of or feel confident doing- foot care/safe nail cutting, wound care, PT, OT, etc. I am most experienced in dementia/Alzheimer's care as I feel a stronger connection to those clients and find that I can communicate well, redirect, and anticipate their needs. I work well with Alzheimer's/dementia patients because I know how to not take personally any interactions or behaviors & understand it's a part of the disease.
