About Alan

My name is Alan. I am a retired pastor with over 20 years of pastoral experience, working with a variety of individuals, many of whom had physical, mental and emotional challenges. I am presently living in the Lynchburg area so that I can live closer to my adult children and my grandchildren, several of whom have physical or mentally challenges. Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity of caring for several gentlemen (most of whom were in their 80's) who had dementia and/or were recovering from illnesses or strokes. I have experience with medication prompting, feeding, mobility assistance, meal preparation, running errands, etc. I am a good conversationalist and enjoy talking to my clients and providing mental stimulation. I enjoy taking clients for walks, rides in the car, and out for meals when that is something that they enjoy.
