After a great interview, Liza accepted the job and asked for $350 to do a deep cleaning her first day. Although we’d researched the cost of such service and according to her profile her range was between $17 & $22, we agreed to her price and the subsequent request for $125 every other week. The deep cleaning was well done, but in the short time she was with us every time she was here things were damaged; first a faucet in our downstairs bathroom—which flooded it along with a significant part of our first floor leaking down to the basement. There were subsequent problems that also required additional money to get them fixed: toilet screws loosened and broken, and the kitchen faucets. Though we NEVER reprimanded her or restricted her pay to make up for the hundreds of dollars in repairs, she eventually ghosted us after I texted her asking her if she knew what might have happened to a missing item that was not expensive but has a high sentimental value for us. That was 2 weeks ago and today she neither returned texts, calls, or showed up—basically ghosting us, something she swore she’d never do “as a devoted Christian woman”, especially knowing that I’m terminally ill and my husband is a disabled war veteran. Very upsetting experience!!!
