About Shaelyn

Elder sister of three, I have been caring for children in some capacity since age 12. I have incredible patience, a drive for success, and cultural competence. My experience working in home settings has provided confidence in my ability to communicate clearly with parents to ensure children are receiving fun, safe, and developmentally appropriate care. I have worked with children of varied ability levels and am confident in my capabilities to connect with any child. My undergraduate degree in human development and family studies has given me great insight into developmental theory, and working toward my masters in early childhood education, I have learned an incredible amount about learning theory. A combination which makes me an ideal candidate to help your little on excel in their early years. I love to play with children outside, experience museums, farms and theatre, and hold a true belief in the importance of literature in children's lives.
