Sarah overcommitted to me and left me hanging 1 day before she was supposed to start caring for my two children (ages 3 and 1). I was originally very impressed with her, she is great with kids and very knowledgeable. She was upfront to the fact that she was currently working for another family as well. The hours I was looking for matched up perfectly to the hours she was available. I used my 2 week vacation time to introduce her to my kids and help get her up to speed with the routine. We even had our current babysitter help to get my children adjusted and comfortable with her as well. One of the days she asked to leave early to go help her current family as to which she told us would never happen again. The Saturday before she was supposed to come on her own, she texted me that her current nanny family needed her back full time and that she could no longer work for me. Sarah only gave me 1 day notice and when I asked for at least 2 weeks so I could find alternative care, she declined stating that it was an emergency for her nanny family. She left me stuck. I would warn anyone against hiring her while she is still committed to another family. She did not take her commitment to me or my children seriously. I feel this was very unprofessional and am highly disappointed that I brought someone into my children's lives that could not follow through.
