About Rachel

I began to pursue my passion for working with children at Appalachian State University, where I earned my degree in Child Development Birth-Kindergarten with a minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders. My teaching philosophy has been most inspired by the Reggio-Emilia approach, so I believe that children learn best through play, experiences, and nature. For four years I spent my summers as a sports camp counselor, so I love staying active with the kiddos in my care! I have taught in child care centers, preschools, and more in the United States, South Africa, and Madagascar. I am friendly, energetic, and dependable!
