My husband and I are two working professionals, with a growing family of three kids (13, 3, and 3 months old), finding the best caretaker/nanny for our children is paramount, as we need to focus on our work while away, and not worry about the well-being of our children - knowing that they are in good hands. Mercedes came into our lives at the perfect moment. At the time, our now three-year-old was a rambunctious one-year-old, who ran everywhere he went, climbed everything he could, and got into everything with the curiosity of a pack of wild baboons. He was overly energetic, and we needed someone who could keep up with him, and that's where Mercedes came in. Not only was she in great physical condition to handle such a busy child, but she engaged with him. She's formally educated in child studies/psychology and was pursuing her master's degree within the subject area. She paid special attention to him, his cues, and his needs -- which was the second biggest attribute we were looking for in a caretaker to our son. Everyday she would spend the first hour of the morning talking and playing with him. Then she would prep snacks and take him on long walks in his stroller to the park to play. He would get all his wiggles out, and by the time we got home, the house would be spotless, toys picked up and put away, our boy bathed, fed, and sound asleep. She was a blessing, and worked for us from Jan 2014 - Jun 2014. Sadly, she was offered a better paying Nanny position, but she refused the better offer to stay with us and our son. However, we could not allow that. My husband and I couldn't let her pass up such a great opportunity, and insisted she take the better job. Mercedes helped us find the perfect replacement for her, and stayed "on-call" until Jan 2015. To sum up, Mercedes is a loving, caring, nurturing, encouraging, responsible and reliable human-being. There are not enough words to describe how much we loved having her, and felt safe and secure putting the life of our precious little boy in her overly capable hands. Any child would be blessed and lucky to have her as a Nanny. She's calm and collected, stern but kind, and any parent would enjoy watching their little one(s) blossom because of her positive influence.
