About Melinda

I have worked with children for over 12 years, as a nanny and preschool teacher, and now, as a loving mother to a 1-year-old daughter. I have worked with children of all ages but the majority has been with children under age 6. I follow a loose Montessori structure, focused on following the child's lead and teaching about the child's interests as they are discovered. I focus at all ages on nurturing happy, capable, confident little people by sharing a patient, calm, and positive outlook and providing constant learning opportunites. I believe gentle, natural consequences (ie. if you throw your cup you help wipe up the spill) are the best approach as this mimics real life consequences. I love incorporating yoga, arts and crafts, and especially turning to nature to help children explore and play. I am a highly qualified nanny with a kind, upbeat attitude and a lot of love to give. I am looking to find a couple of other mothers looking for a nanny-share situation with me as nanny!
