About Makaila

Education: I am a Senior college student at Virginia State University majoring in Music Education. I graduate in May 2024. Experience: I have over three years of experience working with children, including roles as a substitute teacher at Portsmouth Public Schools, Chesapeake Public Schools, and Chesterfield Public Schools, I tutored students for Petersburg Public Schools, I was a support worker for Colonial Heights Public Schools , and I am a Current Student Teacher for Chesterfield Public Schools Passion: My passion is in Music Education preK-12, and I am dedicated to providing quality care and education to children through music and arts with hands on creativity. Personal: I am a mother to a 1-year-old son and understand the importance of balancing college, parenthood, with a steady work-life. Time management is my primary goal!
