About Lucy

Lucy is terrific and we highly recommend her. She worked for our family for about 14 years as a live-out nanny/child care provider and left only because our needs changed once our youngest moved on to middle school. Our family remains close to her and we expect that to last a lifetime. We have three children (boys and girls) and Lucy was terrific with all of them, and has a particular gift with younger children. She really has a talent for being able to relate to and motivate them. She will get down on the floor with them and play but also knows exactly how to impose limits in a constructive way. That led her to work part-time at our children's preschool, where we understand that Lucy often was paired with children who had particular needs. They recognized and valued her particular skills as well. She understands the importance of exercise, both for its own good and for letting off steam, as well as a healthy diet and of requiring the children to be responsible for their own things and cleaning up. She usually turns a chore into some sort of game to make it fun. She is extremely reliable, always on time, and entirely honest in all things, including money management. In addition to child care, and in particular as our children got older, Lucy was able to take on household management tasks like running errands, buying groceries, and scheduling and supervising household appointments. Lucy isn't a child care provider as a default. She does this because she is really good at it and truly enjoys being with children.
