About Lelah

I'd describe my personality as intentional, light-hearted, and calm. I like working with kids because they see the world with such different eyes than I do. They are enthusiastic about things that I've maybe stopped noticing and being a safe space where they can learn about them and the world around them is such a privilege. I started working with kids seriously when I was 14. I began volunteering with a after school program for elementary students a few times a week. In my spare time, I like to read (my face is often buried in a book). I also like to spend a lot of time with friends and I enjoy running and learning how to play the guitar among other things. My skills include patient communication, active listening, and decisive problem-solving. Also compassion, which I'm not sure is necessarily a skill more so a trait. However, having compassion is a foundation of my child care because I understand children think differently from the way I do and need compassionate caregivers.
