I have been an occasional babysitter since high school, typically working with younger children aged 7 and under. I have spent the most time babysitting one family with two boys, beginning when they were 2 and 4 and ending when they were 4 and 6. They were home schooled, and I also assisted with home school assignments/tutoring. I have the most experience with younger children, but am happy to work with older children as well. I have a B. A. in theater from Mary Baldwin College, and I find that theater games can help engage children. Other relevant courses I've taken include Child Psychology and Early Development (undergraduate), and Pedagogy (graduate; teaching methods).

Laura has cared for my two children, both with ADHD, for two years. She is an absolutely fantastic sitter, who is able to engage with children on their level while placing clear limits on behavior and motivating them to be interested in learning and exploring their world. She is extremely patient and highly intelligent and relates very well to children.
