About Kathleen

I went to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois and majored in Elementary Education. I have over 10 years of experience of being a babysitter, 7 years experience in being a nanny and 6 years as being a Household Manager. The difference between being a nanny and a household manager, in my opinion, is assertiveness and initiative. I like to come up with new fun things to do with the children on down time, whether its going to the park or the zoo or playing boards and reading. I like to play with children and have fun but I also take my role as an educator seriously. I love working with children, they put a smile on my face. I like to think of myself as an extension of the parents while I am supervising the children. I am a busy body, so if I see something that needs to get done I will put my effort towards that until it's done right. There are a lot of responsibilities with this position including creating a safe and nurturing environment for the children.
