About Karalyn

I am a licensed foster parent, up to date on all training requirements. I'd describe my approach as patient, caring, and curious. I see my role as to cultivate kids' wonder, empathy, and love for themselves, each other, and the world. I'm looking to work with children of any age to develop their skills and nurture their talents. I especially enjoy working with the 0-3 age group. Excellent communication, clear responsibilities, and mutual respect is a must from parents. I have worked with kids since 2013, first as a math tutor, then a classroom paraprofessional. I worked with youth nonprofits and in a foster group home before becoming a foster parent. I approach child care with a trauma-informed, play-first methodology rooted in Montessori principles. I highly value the role of our natural environment in childhood development.
