About Jokia

I have always enjoyed being around kids, which is why I am currently in school to become a teacher. I have received 15 units in early childhood education, and I have experience being a lead teacher in a preschool classroom setting. I am a mom to a wonderful 2-year-old who has taught me so much more about being an amazing provider. I believe in nature/play based activities, learning through S. T. E. M, dramatic play, and exploring different developmentally appropriate activities for different children. I know that every single child is different, so I tailor my care to suit their needs. Reading is one of the most important things to me. It tremendously shapes young minds. I will make sure to get a few stories in before bedtime. Music is also a favorite of mine. From songs that encourage gross motor movement, to songs I play to calm the body, music is so important to a developing brain. I cannot wait to share all that I have learned with your little ones.
