Hannah worked for me as a nanny for two months. She helped to care for twin infants. We had a great interview and her references checked out. I was excited about working with Hannah because she seemed mature, kind and experienced. Things seemed to go well for the first few weeks. Hannah did fine with baby care, showing up for work and texting updates and photos. She never went above and beyond her basic baby care duties to help out. As long as the babies were getting good care, it didn't matter to me. My husband I started to wonder if Hannah was losing focus when she began doing personal culinary projects at our home during her shifts. It seemed a bit odd that she would bring these projects and not mention anything about what she was working on to us or offer us food. Hannah mentioned in her interview that she has a bakery business on the side. I was also concerned about how she was making time for these projects during her busy workday of caring for twins. It appeared to us that she was engaging with the babies less. I began to lose trust in Hannah and investigated her social media presence. I discovered that Hannah had been making elaborate videos at our home during her work shifts and posting them on Instagram. She also has videos posted on youttube that were made at her former employer's home. The videos included footage of my children, kitchen, living room, dining room, nursery, and dogs without my consent. Hannah exploited the trust that we had in her to take care of our children and our home. She misrepresented herself as a professional nanny. She was not focused on supporting our family. I let her go the day after I discovered the videos.
