About Emma

Hello! I am currently an art therapy student at Southwestern, and I am passionate about child education and care. I have worked as a long-term substitute for 4-18-year-olds. Through this experience, I have learned how to cater to students' academic and emotional needs. I love working with students, as their creativity brings such a light into my life! This past summer, I was also the location director for an academic summer camp. I oversaw all the students and staff, and I dealt with any classroom socio-emotional conflicts. I also have thorough psychology research experience. I used to be the lead research assistant for a child emotion regulation lab. We did research on the specific ways we can develop strong relationships with children. I have volunteered with residents of senior centers, survivors, the housing insecure, and those in crisis. Through these experiences, I have learned how to make people of many different backgrounds feel comfortable in my presence. Thank you!
