Ellie has been our wonderful part-time nanny since August 2022. I am about to have my third baby and am going on an extended maternity leave, which is the only reason we will not need help for a while. Ellie loves children and is just incredibly sweet and kind. I trust her driving my children, as well as watching them at the park, library, the Mayborn, and zoo. During the summer, she even went to swim lessons with them. She is great at engaging them in different activities – they are always happy after spending time with her and just absolutely adore her. She plays with them and comes up with different crafts/art activities to keep them both engaged. She makes them both feel special, loved, and cared for. In terms of job duties/schedule, she has picked up our two children (now 4YO and 6YO) from preschool and watched them for multiple hours until we returned home from work. She also has watched them all day during school holidays and summer breaks when we did not have a camp, as well as provided back-up care when they were sick and time for my husband and I to go on dates! She has fixed them breakfast/lunch/dinner and is great at ensuring they drink water/eat healthy. Ellie also is extremely reliable and an excellent communicator. The reliability issue is important for us (we’ve had other full-time and part-time nannies and have had issues in the past – we have not had those issues with Ellie, as she is not late/is extremely consistent in terms of the schedule). In short, she has kept things going smoothly for us and has brought some calmness and reliability to my own hectic schedule (my husband and I both work full-time/travel).
