Beverly nannied for us for about 2-3 months or so in 2023. I will say that she was great when she was here hence the 2 star and not 1 star. Before I get into the bad, I feel I must be fair and say the good first. When she was here, she was wonderful with our 10 month old boy and watched him, did activities/playing, went outside with him, and even went on walks through our neighborhood with him. So, in that sense, she was great. But, the primary issue I experienced with her was reliability and lack of communication. I needed her to be a nanny from 10-4 twice a week and I would say she showed up 75-80% of the time and the times she did not show up were usually last minute notices. Which, luckily my career allows for me to take off last minute if necessary, but if I was not in the fortunate position I am in this may have led to more serious issues with my employer. I will also say the reasonings of her not showing up did seem to be legit at times, but there is no way of me proving this one way or the other of course. And, ultimately, it still proved to be a common occurrence/inconvenience and she typically alerted us last minute/the morning of. The final straw for us was... on Tuesday she was not able to nanny for us and sent us a text that same morning saying how she was sorry and her not showing up was rude and inconvenient and she would talk to her husband about the sustainability of it. And, as inconvenient as it was, at least showed some self-awareness and consideration on her part so I was hopeful for a peaceful ending. But, I texted her a few times leading up to that Thursday (when I needed her services again) and there was no response at all. An absolute ghosting if you will. And, as of writing this review (late Saturday) there has been no follow-up response of any kind from Beverly. So, the ghosting is what really bothers me most about everything, especially given the previous text message that indicated some self awareness of the inconveniences of bailing last minute, and I am attempting to write an honest and fair review to both her and I. I will also say that, in my opinion, my child is not a super hard child and is super routine/structured and is not extremely fussy or difficult. I was here the whole time she was nanny'ing to help and assist in any ways possible as I work from home on those days (with the exception of running some errands here and there of course). So, in conclusion, I will say that when Beverly was awesome with our kiddo and us (parents) when she was here, but the reliability, last-minute bailing on us, and ghosting us really displayed a level of inconvenience and disrespect that ultimately led us to go with a different nanny.
