Hi, I've had 20 years of child-raising experience and am a credentialed classroom teacher. I used to teach 7th - 9th grade Life Science and Biology. Then I taught college nutrition. Recently retired from classrooms, I've been assisting a busy school principal with her children, pets, and household. I also taught and cared for a 4 year old girl here in NYC (9 months), preparing her for kindergarten. At the same time, I worked as a professional dog runner. Throughout their childhood, I read to my children, did artwork with them, learned music with them, and coordinated with other parents to carpool all our children to school and extracurricular activities. I learned to read music to help my son practice the piano. And I carpooled with many other families to dance, music, art, and other extracurricular activities. As a school volunteer, I lead reading groups, helped start our school garden Read more and composting programs, set up bulletin boards, and helped out at class parties. I participated as a parent in swim meets, drama, dance, and musical productions, and my favorite: bedtime reading. Children's books are my favorite reading. My passion is to find the best and unique places inside children and give them what they need to become their best. Children deserve contentment, self esteem, and emotional coping skills to become well-adjusted adults. (In my professional work teaching - I routinely tailored class experiences and strategies to diverse learning styles - that's the best part - finding children "where they're at" and "how they learn." The best! I'm a strong swimmer, dancer, and pet lover. I can run dogs and help with household food and errands, etc... I'd like to find a family to have a relationship with and children I can have quality time and relationships with.
