Hello family! My name is Julia and my passion for education is something very close to my heart. I am a graduate of Wilmington University (Delaware) with a certificate in Elementary Education K-6 (Highly Qualified) and Special Education K-12. For the past five years I have worked in an elementary school where I had the privilege to educate children of all ages and abilities. Specifically, I have taught fourth and fifth grade language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies; the last two of my five years were concentrated in the areas of mathematics and science. I am a firm believer that learning should be exciting, engaging, and continual. I always shared with my students that one of the most rewarding components of being a teacher was learning from them. Every child is unique and should be recognized for who they are. It is also important to note that each child Read more learns in their own way. Over my years as an educator, I have advocated for countless children to get them the help that was needed specifically for them. I will forever love my time as an elementary education teacher. In addition to working with elementary-aged children, I also have experience working with infants/toddlers as I am an aunt to a beautiful girl! Although I will greatly miss being in the classroom, I have recently moved to New York City (Manhattan) and would like to have an opportunity to work with a family! I am a very energetic, organized, detail-oriented, and motivated individual. Furthermore, since my time as an educator, I am a strong believer that working with parents/families is crucial to the growth and development of a child. Working as a team is vital to the success of every child.
