Hi! My name is Laura "Alicia" and I'm looking for a part to full time nanny job. I live in Colonial Heights with my husband of 9 years, our 2 sons(4yrs & 8mos), and 2 goofy pups. My ideal work hours would be morning and day time during the week. Experience: My childcare experience includes work as a camp counselor, middle and high school Spanish teacher, K-4 preschool teacher, nanny/babysitter/mother's helper. I currently oversee the kids and family ministry at my church where I work with kids and babies of all ages every week. I do have experience working with special needs children and after having my first son I am well equipped to work with infants as well as children with severe food allergies. Philosophy: My childcare interests include any age from infant to teen and my sons love to play with kids of all ages. I aspire to Read more help children and families live healthier and happier lives by teaching the joys of everyday life, preparing healthy meals and snacks & spending a lot of time outdoors in unstructured play as well as fun planned activities. I follow a classical and gentle approach that does not overly pressure little ones. Services: I am currently looking to provide care in my own home where the child/kids are dropped off. I am happy to provide meals and snacks, especially since I will not serve allergens around my son. I tend to purchase organic and low processed foods, so we can work out a weekly or monthly food cost if you’re interested. Throughout the week I incorporate trips to the CH public library where Ms.Chantal does wonderful children’s programs, and other seasonal outings in my Honda Odyssey Minivan. We daily practice preschool learning that is incorporated into play, exposure to letters, numbers, colors, shapes, and counting. My favorite activities are arts and crafts, teaching classic nursery rhymes and songs, reading high quality preschool literature from my home library, and exploring the outdoors in my own back yard. The kids will love our preschool sized swing set with rock wall, slide, and climbing dome. Screen time is very limited and most days we go without. The second story of my home includes a large indoor play space and open ended toys such as blocks, trains/cars/trucks, play kitchen, chalk/white board, animal and people figures, musical instruments, and more for most ages infant through elementary. I also have plenty of rooms for naps and afternoon quiet times.
