I have been a caregiver for special needs young adults. I began with one young man whom I kept busy and challenged with volunteer work, making gifts for teachers and family members, doing his chores, and several social outings. I worked with him for almost 3 years and his mother's reference is available on my profile. In addition, I helped to organize a volunteer program with special needs adults at a local church in my home town which is still going strong. I also had a budding business with several others making quality art and crafts items and selling them at local festivals and craft shows, with the hope of opening a brick and mortar place to serve more in the special needs community. I am currently working part-time two mornings a week with small group of special needs young adults making craft items.

Cathy served as the caregiver for my disabled young adult son for the past 3 years and I could not more strongly recommend her. Had I not remarried and moved, we would still be working together. Cathy is extremely reliable, very resourceful, a seasoned "mom" who sees what is needed and does it - a true right hand to me in caring for my son. She has a huge heart for, indeed a calling to, folks with disabilities - and they clearly respond to her. My son and all of his friends adore her. She is naturally gifted in art and gardening and utilizes these gifts top develop skills and abilities in those she cares for. She actively sought out creative ways to help my son achieve his goals. Happy, fun, hardworking, joyful, disciplined, kind, godly - these all describe Cathy. I heartily recommend her for your consideration.
