About Brittni

Hi! My name is Brittni, and for the past 4 years, I have worked as direct care for foster youth in a group home setting for up to 9 Children in North Carolina with my husband. This summer, we moved back to Lynchburg to be closer to family. I'm a current IA : Paraprofessional for Lynchburg City Schools. While a foster caregiver, I worked as with 9 children age 6-12, and for 3 years prior I lived and served both teen boys and teen girls age 12-18 in a group home setting. As a foster care houseparent, I've had to be responsible for grocery shopping, prepping food, cooking for a house full of 11 people, Transporting kids to school, off campus activities, and medical appointments. Making sure kids arrive to therapy and case management appointments on time. Assisting with chores, laundry, and homework. Prior to Foster Care, my husband I spent a year teaching English in Thailand. During this year abroad I had the privilege to work with every kids from kindergarten to grade 12.
